Thankfully, Knitting Factory Records has reissued much of Rashied Ali's
long-defunct and much-sought-after Survival Records catalog. Duo Exchange is
the original first release from that label, and the recording lends much
credibility to Ali's choice to start his own label. The interaction between Ali
and Frank Lowe is exciting and of a consistently high level, making this
recording a worthy and historical addition to the collections of all fans of
